Amelia Island Bird Club Meets September 21

The Club’s first field trip of the season is Saturday September 21 at the Heritage River Road site. The group will meet at 8 a.m. in the Joe Carlucci Boat Ramp parking area. Migration is underway and there should be a number of shorebird species present. For those looking to see Marbled Godwits, the Club will visit Spoonbill Pond where several Godwits have been reported.

The Club’s primary purpose is to watch birds during monthly field trips from September through May. There are no club officers or dues, and members register by email and are notified about upcoming trips. Anyone is welcome to attend a field trip. Please refer to the scheduled trips on the website at www.ameliaislandbirdclub.org. To receive notice and details of each trip send your name and email with a request to be a member to Bill George at birdbill5@aol.com.
