The United States Coast Guard is hosting a “Safe Boating Week Kickoff & Coast Guard Open House” at the Fernandina Harbor Marina, Lot B to celebrate Armed Forces Day on May 20. Attendees will have to opportunity to tour a Coast Guard Cutter, watch a Coast Guard helicopter deploy and hoist a rescue swimmer, talk to a recruiter, and more. This is a free, family friendly, community event, held 10 a.m to 3 p.m., with a helicopter demo at 12:30 p.m.
