Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library Present Stories on Stage

Legendary Fernandina actors and storytellers take the stage on Sunday, March 22 from noon to 3 p.m. at The Lakeside of Amelia Island, located at 649 Amelia Island Parkway, Fernandina Beach.

Mark Charles, Arlene Filkoff, Marsha Dean Phelts, Rachel Tyler, Chris Twiggs, and Buffy Wells will join guests for an afternoon of creative storytelling. Be thoroughly entertained as these local legends bring laughter, surprise, memories and emotion to the stage. Audience members are encouraged to vote with cash for their favorite story.

New for 2020, Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library welcome Kaye Byrnes, award-winning storyteller from Jacksonville. Byrnes will lead the storytelling festivities and end the afternoon with an engaging performance. She was awarded with the Florida Storytelling Association 2007 inaugural Distinguished Service Award in recognition of her leadership. In 2018, Byrnes was honored with the Annette J. Bruce Lifetime Achievement Award.

This celebration of stories and tales will begin with a brunch reception at noon featuring delicious brunch bites, mimosas and wine with music by John Springer on the piano. Delectable desserts and coffee will be served at intermission.

Also new for 2020, beautiful wreaths and unique door d├ęcor donated by local shops and artists will be on display and available through a raffle at the event. Guests may enter the raffle as well as purchase tokens to vote for their favorite story with cash or credit card at the event. For more information visit
