Feb 12, 2020 02:58AM ● By Karen Miller

Island Chamber Singer's Spring Concert features a major work by Johannes Brahms, A German Requiem. This particular Requiem is unique in that it is not biblically based. One of the favorite choruses from the work is “How Lovely is Thy Dwelling Place.” It is scored for soprano and baritone solos, chorus and orchestra. ICS's two soloists are well known to the Amelia Island area. Soprano, Robyn Lamp, and baritone, David Scheininger, will be part of the sixty-member chorus singers. Though originally written in German, the Requiem will be sung with English text. Dates for these performances are Friday, March 27 and Sunday, March 29, held at Amelia Plantation Chapel, 36 Bowman Road, Amelia Island, FL.
