Rendezvous Film Festival Celebrates 10 years of films and music

Sep 03, 2018 02:00AM

The Rendezvous Film Festival will be held September 21st through the 23rd. This is the tenth anniversary of the film festival and there will be many exciting events leading up to the opening day party on September 21st. In 2014, the Amelia Island Film Festival changed its name to the Rendezvous Music and Film Festival to honor the legacy of Evan’s Rendezvous – the legendary American Beach club that has hosted legendary black artists such as Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, and Ray Charles.

Befitting this name change, there will be a new focus on the music component this year. Not only will the Festival present many music-focused documentaries, but there will be an assortment of live performances both during and leading up to the festival – as well as the screening of a documentary produced by the festival highlighting the thriving music scene on the island. The festival will include over 50 films from 7 countries, as well as workshops, guest speakers, and lively open end closing night parties. For more information visit www.renezvousfestival.org.
