Crash Course on North Florida Gardening

On August 30, September 6 and 13, UF/FAS Nassau Extension Director Rebecca Jordi will conduct a seminar called “Crash Course on North Florida Gardening” at the Yulee County Building. Jordi will cover topics on proper landscape practices and plants for the Northeast Florida area, with different information being presented each day.

Notebooks, refreshments and plenty of garden material will be given away to participants. Classes will contain information on Florida Friendly plants, annuals, perennials, attracting wildlife, trees, shrubs, lawn grass, palms and citrus. Appropriate watering and fertilization methods will be discussed as well as proper pruning and plant selection.

The cost for the public is $50 per person or $75 per couple.  Deadline for registration will be Friday, August 24 at 5 pm. The Yulee County Building is located at 86026 Pages Dairy Road. (Take US 17 North, pass over the railroad tracks, turn left on Pages Dairy Road. The building is attached to the fire station.) For more information call (904) 530-6351.
