Amelia’s Attic Furniture Celebrates 25 Years

Owners Sylvia Gedeon and her daughter, Jennifer Crews, strive to provide a welcoming environment for customers to stop in and browse often. The Attic experience is rounded out by treating their staff as family. They serve customers in two distinct ways that include helping people sell items they cannot use and then assisting in furnishing their new Coastal home. Their goal is to offer a moderate price range and, whenever possible, American made products. One of their favorite aspects of the business is when customers say they are happy in their surroundings, purchased at Amelia’s Attic. Sylvia’s late mother, Vickie Poole, helped Sylvia in the early days, along with a couple of devoted employees.
After college, Jennifer worked in Atlanta, eventually returning (home) to Fernandina Beach. She has been at the Attic for 14 years. Through the years they’ve enjoyed the hard work and feel rewarded helping customers create beautiful coastal homes. Amelia’s Attic looks forward to the adjacent expansion of Tuesday Morning and relocation of Lott’s Furniture, making for a convenient home furnishings shopping district on Sadler Road.
As Sylvia looked back through scrapbooks and their humble beginnings, she says simply that she is glad it all worked through the years and has evolved into a full service furniture store. As always, Amelia’s Attic looks forward to displaying exciting new selections from the home furnishings industry, as well as their ever changing consignment offerings. Business hours are 10-5:30 Monday through Saturday.
