Bartram Garden Club Swings into Spring

The Bartram Garden Club is hosting two events this spring, to help get your garden growing. The first is their March 8 meeting, held at 10 a.m. at GFWC Woman’s Club of Fernandina Beach, with a program on “Herbs,” presented by Nassau County Extension Director Rebecca Jordi, who will lead a discussion on which herbs thrive in Northeast Florida's soil and climate. In addition, a representative from Pelindaba Lavender's shop in downtown Fernandina will present the myriad ways lavender is used. Members and guests are invited to share a favorite herb recipe.

Join the group at 10 a.m. for a meet and greet, followed by the program at 10:30 a.m. In addition, the Club is also hosting a floral design program and lunch called “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants” on April 19 at 10 a.m., in conjunction with members of the Woman’s Club, which includes lunch following the presentation. Tickets for the April event are $25 per person, and reservations are required. For more information contact Beverly Williams at (404) 312-8530 or Sue Dwyer at (904) 277-3245. The Woman’s Club is located at 201 Jean Lafitte Boulevard.
