COYOTES IN OUR COMMUNITY

Nov 03, 2017 02:00AM
On November 14 at 7 p.m., Wild Amelia presents a program called “Coyotes on our Community” at the Peck Center Auditorium on 516 South 10th Street. The guest speaker will be Sarah Helm, a Wildlife Assistance Biologist for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. A native New Englander, Sarah grew up in the woods hunting and fishing and served in the military. Her great love is helping people coexist with wildlife. In her presentation, she will address questions about the mysterious coyote, such as: how did coyotes get to Florida? Where do they live? What do they eat? Should they be here and are they a cause for concern? How do they help Florida wildlife? Coyotes have been recently spotted on the island and Ms. Helm has received many inquiries about them. Bring your questions to the program, which is free and open to the public.
