Amelia Islander

Children’s art featured at Plantation Artists’ Guild and Gallery

May 12, 2017 02:00AM
The Plantation Artists’ Guild and Gallery now features 39 artists, mostly residents of the Amelia Island Plantation. It is a cooperative gallery that is run by the artists themselves, and visitors to the gallery are encouraged to meet and deal directly with the creators of the art. The PAG&G often partners with Osprey Village, which provides opening receptions for some of the shows. Additionally, most openings function as fundraisers for local charities.

This year has been designated as a year of charities for children. The current show is called “Arts Alive” in recognition of Arts Alive Nassau whose mission is to promote the arts by providing free opportunities and educational experiences to children who might otherwise have little or no access to the arts. Artwork from the children enrolled in their classes will be on display along with the art from the PAG&G members.

The opening reception for Arts Alive will be held on May 19 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. PAG&G is located at 94 Amelia Village Circle. For more information call (904) 432-1750 or visit www.artamelia.com.
