Cookie Tour Raises Money for Micah’s Place

Jan 16, 2017 02:00AM
The 2016 Holiday Cookie Tour of Inns was a resounding success! Thousands of cookies were baked – and eaten – many trees and tens of thousands of lights and ornaments were put up, dozens of volunteer docents came to help, and over 1000 visitors came through to view Amelia Island’s inns. The Amelia Island Bed and Breakfast Association was able to present a check for $4600 to Micah’s Place, the Domestic Violence Center for Nassau County.

The Executive Director of Micah’s Place, Heather Jones, indicated that the organization is readying their plans to add four more rooms for families to the building. Be sure to mark your calendars for this year’s tour on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Discounted tickets go on sale in July.

Cookie Tour Chair, Julie Jones (r) of the Amelia Island Blue Heron Inn, presents a check from AIBBA to Heather Jones (no relation), Executive Director of Micah’s Place, and Laurie Teeters, Volunteer Coordinator for Micah’s Place, while Chris (co-chair) and Maria Page of the Amelia Island Williams House share in the celebration in front of the Purple Dove Resale Center today.
