Birding Excursion at Egan’s Creek Greenway

Nov 11, 2016 02:00AM
The Nassau Bird Club, now headed by Bill George, will be hosting a birding trip to Egans Creek Greenway on Saturday, November 19 at 9:30 a.m. High tide is expected a little past noon, and for those who are interested in seeing a seaside sparrow, it is suggested that participants stay until noon, since this species is best seen at high tide.

The Greenway is featured on The Great Florida Birding Trail, and is a dynamic landscape for birding. Its salt marsh, hardwood hammock, reclaimed freshwater swamp, and coastal hammock attract many local and migratory species. Bring binoculars, field guides, sunscreen, insect repellent, rain gear, and water. The excursion begins at the Atlantic Avenue entrance to Egan’s Creek Greenway. For more information call Bill George at (612) 709-4998.
