Ackerman Cancer Center to Host Open House in Newly Renovated Amelia Island Office

In spring 2016, Ackerman Cancer Center expanded and renovated its Amelia Island office. Located on the campus of Baptist Medical Center – Nassau, the private radiation oncology practice is now inviting the Amelia Island community to a Community Open House, taking place on Thursday, September 22 , from 4 to 6 p.m. Physicians, nurses, and other staff members will provide tours, and light refreshments will be served.

“This event gives locals, whether cancer patients or not, the opportunity to witness the multi-disciplinary cancer care we give their friends and neighbors access to,” says Jennifer Maggiore, LCSW, OSW-C, Director of Patient Services at Ackerman Cancer Center. Invitations have been extended to community leaders, like Mayor Johnny Miller, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Council on Aging.Helmed by Medical Director Scot Ackerman, M.D., Ackerman Cancer Center has been treating cancer patients with radiation therapy on Amelia Island for 20 years. Ackerman Cancer Center is located at 1340 South 18th Street in Fernandina Beach.
