“These Two Couples” at ACT
Aug 03, 2016 02:00AM
Sightseeing is competitive and hilarious in Amelia Community Theatre's comedy "These Two Couples Went to Italy." Two American couples cross paths as they travel around Italy, each boasting and bragging that they are the better, more experienced travelers. They are only unified in their agreement that Epcot is more organized than Europe, and that Americans make a better red sauce than the Italians. Their comic misadventure leads them to the Leaning Tower of Pisa for the ultimate competition. Performances are at 8 p.m. on August 4-6, 11-13, 18-20 and 2 p.m. on August 14 at 207 Cedar Street. Tickets are $22 for adults and $10 for students through college, and are available at www.ameliacommmunitytheatre.org or by calling 261-6749. This plays ends the 35th anniversary season. ACT begins its 36th season with the classic "On Golden Pond." August is a busy month at ACT, with auditions at 3 p.m. on August 6 for the play, "Silent Sky," a romantic comedy/drama set in the world of 1906 astronomy. Performances will be in ACT's Studio 209 Theatre in November.
