Jul 13, 2016 06:10AM
The Amelia Island Tourist Development Council provides a special discount card for those staying in many of Amelia Island’s fine hotels, resorts, and bed and breakfast inns. Guests simply request the free Amelia Island Value Card when they check in. To take advantage of great offers in the community, visitors present the card to participating merchants and enjoy special deals on dining, shopping, lodging, and other local attractions.

“Over 60 merchants are participating in our Value Card program,” says Gil Langely, President of Amelia Island Tourist Development Council. Guests can expect to receive discounts on everything from kayak excursions and boat rentals to spa treatments, meals, and gifts.”

The Tourist Development Council is responsible for spending the revenues received under the tourism development tax. Their mission is to serve the businesses and citizens of Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island by maximizing the economic impact of tourism. Last year the AITDC helped to execute many events that increased revenues and created jobs, such as Amelia Island Concours Week, Amelia Island Restaurant Week, Dickens on Centre, Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, the Shrimp Festival, and many more.
