Jun 24, 2016 02:00AM
Distinguished Concerts International New York City (DCINY) have recently announced that Dr. Jane Lindberg and Island Chambe Singers have been invited to participate in a performance of Francis Poulenc’s Gloria, at Carnegie Hall on Sunday, February 19, 2017. The musicians will join with other choristers to form the Distinguished Concerts Singers International. Dr. Erin Freeman will serve as conductor of the performance and clinician for the residency.

Dr. Jonathan Griffith, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor for the DCINY states, “The Island Chamber Singers received this invitation because of the quality and high level of musicianship demonstrated by the dingers, as well as the exceptional quality of their audition recording.”

“We are very excited, and cannot believe that we were invited to join with other singers to perform this wonderful work by Francis Poulenc,” states Lindberg. “We have 41 singers going and 40 friends and family of ICS members. It never dawned on me when we started in 2004 that we would ever be in a position to receive an invitation to sing at Carnegie Hall. We have grown musically and that is the exciting part!” For tickets call (212) 707-8566 or email [email protected], or visit the web site at www.DCINY.org.
