Rendezvous Film Festival Celebrates its 9th Year

May 20, 2016 02:00AM
The Rendezvous Film Festival started in September 2007 as the Amelia Island Film Festival, co-founded by Tony McAdoo and Cathy Shultz; their first screening was held at The Palace Saloon. Although many changes have occurred since that day, the RFF has stayed focused on its mission statement, which is to inspire and promote independent filmmakers around the world.

Today, the Rendezvous Film Festival is a three day international and domestic film festival celebrating its ninth season on Amelia Island. This year’s event will feature 54 films from 14 countries, along with workshops for film makers and aspiring film makers such as Eight Steps to a Powerful Pitch and Film Financing Forum, and the opportunity for film makers to pitch their film projects to producers. Other events include a film and lunch series, several after-parties, and a closing award event, all held in various venues around the island.

This year RFF has been selected for the U.S. debut of the Australian Animation Film: Blinky Bill the Movie, with stars Ryan Kwanten, Toni Collette, and David Wenham. The festival will be held June 2 through June 4. For more information and complete schedule visit www.rendezvousfestival.org.
