SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
THURSDAY, MAY 5 CHEFS WELCOME DINNER AT WALKER'S LANDING - 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort kicks off the 2016 Fish to Fork Weekend with a welcome dinner for the competing Chefs. Enjoy live music, hand-crafted cocktails and a sunset dinner over the Intracoastal Waterway. On this night, the Chefs will randomly select their charters for the next morning's fishing excursions. The Chef's Welcome Dinner is is included as part of the Fish to Fork VIP Package experience.
FRIDAY, MAY 6 CHEF’S FISHING EXCURSIONS - 6:30 A.M. - 2:00 P.M. Chefs and VIP Package guests are transported to Fernandina Harbor Marina, where each Chef will pair off with his or her charter for a five-hour fishing excursion. Local species include Atlantic Grouper, Red Drum, Black Sea Bass, Flounder and Skate. Whatever is caught that day will be used for the individual portion of the Main Event on Saturday evening, May 7. Gourmet packaged lunches and soft drinks are provided. Friday's fishing excursion is included as part of the Fish to Fork VIP Package experience. OPTIONAL OCEANSIDE LUNCH - 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. VIP Package guests who opt not to attend Friday morning's fishing excursion are invited to enjoy a Chef's specialty menu at Oceanside Restaurant, overlooking the Atlantic shoreline. The Oceanside lunch is included as part of the Fish to Fork VIP Package experience.
DINNER WITH WINE PAIRINGS AT SUNRISE CAFÉ - 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. The second Fish to Fork evening showcases an intimate five-course wine-paired dinner that showcases the creativity and passion of Omni Amelia Island's culinary team as led by Executive Chef Daven Wardynski. The Sunrise Café dinner is included as part of the Fish to Fork VIP and Weekend Package experience.
SATURDAY, MAY 7 SPROUTING PROJECT LUNCH - 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. Event Guests are transported to The Sprouting Project, where they will enjoy live music, an open bar and a tour of our aquaponic greenhouse, expansive organic garden and bee colony. Guests will then be seated for an outdoor lunch that incorporates items harvested directly from The Sprouting Project. The Sprouting Project lunch is included as part of the Fish to Fork VIP and Weekend Package experience.
THE MAIN EVENT - 6:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M. Chefs compete in individual and group challenges live from Magnolia Garden as event guests sample their dishes and vote for their favorites. Saturday Night's Main Event will include live music and a full open bar. Tickets may be purchased below or by calling 1-800-648-9999. The Main Event is also included as part of the Fish to Fork VIP, Weekend and Main Event Package experience.
Individual Challenge - 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.—For the Individual Challenge, each Chef is assigned to a cooking station on the Magnolia Garden lawn. From these stations, they will then turn their catch into a signature dish to be sampled by event guests floating from station to station.
Group Challenge - 7:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.—Chefs are divided into two teams for a final “Chef Showdown." They will have an hour to produce an impromptu gourmet menu for all event guests. A secret ingredient will be revealed moments before the competition begins and must be incorporated into each team's final dish. Event guests will then vote for their favorite Chefs from both the individual and group challenges. Those votes will be tallied at the end of the night and our winners will be announced.
