State Park March 26 Events

Mar 09, 2016 02:00AM
Join a ranger at Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park and Big Talbot Island State Park on March 26 for two fascinating ranger-lead events. The first at Pumpkin Hill begins at 10 a.m., a hike with a ranger while discovering how to interpret signs left behind by the diverse wildlife who call the parks home. The program will take place at the main trailhead parking at the Preserve. No reservations are necessary and the program is free.

Later that day, join with another ranger for a walk on the beach at Big Talbot Island State Park as he explains the importance of undeveloped beach habitat, including many interesting facts about sea creatures and common shells found in the area. The program will take place at the Bluffs pavilion on Big Talbot Island. No reservations are necessary and the program is free, but the entrance fee to the Park is $3.

For both programs, participants are encouraged to bring bug spray, sunscreen, and bottled water. For additional information on these and other programs, contact the Talbot Islands Ranger Station at (904) 251-2320.
