Chili Cook Off Coming in February

Jan 20, 2016 02:00AM
Join the Amelia Island Montessori School and the City of Fernandina Beach on February 20 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a day of great food, live music, games, vendors, and much more. The 9th annual Amelia Island Chili Cook-off stands to be the biggest one yet with approximately 20 plus cook teams whipping up their amazing chili recipes and some of the best local talent playing to the crowds. Definitely not an event that you want to miss. A fundraiser for Amelia Island Montessori School, the Chili Cook Off is an event for the whole family.

Amelia Island Montessori School opened in September 1973 after an inspired and hard-working group of parents, strongly supported by the then newly developed Amelia Island Plantation, decided they wanted a Montessori education for their children. Forty years later, Amelia Island Montessori School has educated more than 1,000 children in the Montessori method and continues its mission to develop critical thinkers of today and tomorrow. Their standardized test results have demonstrated that AIMS children not only perform exceptionally well overall, they rank above average on such criteria as problem solving, adapting to new situations, using their skills and showing responsibility. The Chili Cook Off is held on Centre Street. For information contact Jay Robertson at [email protected] or (904)310-3361.
