An Evening of Story and Song on January 30

Jan 08, 2016 02:00AM
In 2005, Donna and Mark Kaufman launched "An Evening of Story and Song” in Fernandina Beach, and invited a few of their most talented singer/songwriter friends from Nashville to come for a visit and perform for friends and acquaintances. To date, they have hosted more than sixty such performances (about three or four months apart), featuring some Grammy Award winners or nominees like Beth Nielsen Chapman, Gretchen Peters, Jon Vezner, Tom Kimmel, and many other recording artists.

This is strictly a labor of love for the Kaufmans, with 100% of the funds collected going directly to the artists. “An Evening of Story & Song" is made possible by the generous support of First Coast Community Bank and St. Peter's Episcopal Church Community Outreach program.

January 30’s performance is at 7:30 p.m. at Burns Hall, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, featuring Harpeth Rising, a classically-trained trio of young women with a unique blend of instruments and voices. They are unapologetic genre-benders, fusing Folk, Newgrass, Rock, and Classical into a sound that is organically unique. A $20 donation requested at the door (100% of which goes to the artists).
