Thisrty Thursday at NFLT Office in Jacksonville

Sep 14, 2015 02:00AM
This spring, North Florida Land Trust partnered with The Food Park Project to replace their front lawn with a river-friendly and edible yard at their office in the Riverside neighborhood of Jacksonville. Val Hermann, founder of the Food Park Project, helped pick the "right plant" for the "right place" to take advantage of natural light, shade, and ground contour with the goal to conserve both water and energy in plant growth.

On Thursday September 17, the NFLT invites the public to join them for “Thirsty Thursday Garden Workshop” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 2038 Gilmore Street to help quench the garden. Hermann will lead the effort and do an introductory talk on seasonal gardening tips. Local brews for thirsty guests will be available on the front porch. For more information or to RSVP contact Genevieve Fletcher at [email protected] or call (904) 479-1967.
