Amelia Islander

Up until a year ago, if Amelia Islanders wanted food delivered to their homes, they had a choice between pizza and Chinese. But along came Amelia-To-Go, the brainchild of Jennifer Coleman, and now you can have food from over fifty restaurants delivered directly to your door or place of business for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Jennifer had been retired for five years from a career in the food service industry and as a nutritionist, but her desire to keep working and her boundless energy brought her out of retirement, especially when she saw the need for a restaurant delivery business on Amelia. “I could feel the need for this sort of business,” says Jennifer. “There are so many specialty restaurants in the area, and lots of times people want to eat in. We started out just delivering around the island, but the business became so popular that now we deliver as far as I-95!” Jennifer employs four delivery personnel, and she handles the dispatching herself. Payment is made by credit cards or cash. By logging on to the Amelia-To-Go web site, customers can view the various restaurant menus and make their choices as if they were eating at the restaurant. “We even make deliveries from places that aren’t on our web site. Basically, you tell us what you want and where you want it and we will get it to you!” Amelia-To-Go makes sixty-plus deliveries per week and is growing every day. They operate seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, call (904) 557-3783 or visit
