Amelia Island Kayak Excursions Offers Summer Tours

Jun 08, 2015 02:00AM
Amelia Island Kayak Excursions offers a variety of guided kayak tours in fresh water creeks, salt water marshes, and nearby rivers, giving paddlers the opportunity to explore a part of natural Florida. Amelia Island and its surrounding waterways are the perfect place to explore via kayak. While paddling on these waters, time seems to stand still. The most popular tours are their local two-hour paddles, with longer tours available, including exploring the Okefenokee Swamp and the St. Marys and Suwannee Rivers. It is Amelia Island Kayak Excursions’ goal to help you have a fun and informative experience as you explore the natural settings of their area. Regardless of experience, their guides are there to help you enjoy a peaceful, relaxing time on the water.

In response to requests for a tour that is longer than AIK's 2-hour Amelia River paddle, but not an all-day excursion, they are now offering a 3 ½ hour guided tour. Paddlers will experience local, scenic waterways, stop off on nearby islands, and paddle through areas off of the main channel, to get a close up view that most people rarely see. So, imagine viewing the flora and fauna of the Amelia River where even dolphins are often seen.

The tour is completed by arriving at the Fernandina Beach marina, where paddlers will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful historic downtown area. Cost for this extended tour is $100 per person. For more information call (904)557-5307, or visit www.ameliaislandkayak.com.
