Take Stock in Children Graduates

Jun 03, 2015 02:00AM
Take Stock in Children Nassau celebrated its annual Graduation Celebration on Tuesday, April 21, in the Yulee High School Auditorium. This year, 28 high school seniors were presented with their Florida Prepaid College Scholarship because they had fulfilled the requirements of the Take Stock program. Each of the students had maintained a 2.5 GPA or higher, attended school regularly, and met with their mentors on a weekly basis. Because of this, they have all been awarded a four-year Florida Prepaid College Scholarship which they can use to attend any Florida college or university. Kellie Boston of Boston Photography donated her time and expertise to provide professional portraits for all of the Take Stock seniors and their mentors. West Nassau High School student, Rhett Smithgall, volunteered his time to take photos of the event. Chef Castleberry and his culinary arts class provided refreshments during the reception. “We are also grateful to Publix Bakery (Yulee), Yulee High School, and the Nassau County School Board for all of their help in making this event such a success,” said Sharon Collins, Executive Director for Take Stock in Children Nassau.
