Nassau County Bird Club Breakfast

The Nassau County Bird Club will join the Duval Audubon for its annual “Birds and Breakfast” picnic on Saturday, May 9 at Huguenot Memorial Park in Jacksonville. Breakfast is 8 a.m. followed by a meeting for the installation of 2015-16 officers and board members. Joan and Richard Becker will lead the birding field trip after the breakfast at 9 a.m.

To get to Huguenot Memorial Park, cross Nassau Sound Bridge at go 8.2 miles south on A1A to blinking light. Turn left to enter park. If you arrive before 8 a.m. the entrance fee is $3 per car of 6 people; after 8 a.m. the fee is $4. Duval Audubon has reserved shelter #1. Ask the attendant at the entrance for the location. After the breakfast and field trip, participants are welcome to utilize the shelter as it has been rented for the day.

Participants are asked to bring a breakfast dish to share, but coffee will be provided. Also bring binoculars, layered clothing, water, and field guide. The event will take place rain or shine. For more information call Carol Wyatt at (904) 261-9272.
