Robison Jewelry was founded in 1952 by K. W. Robison, and it is the oldest continually operating retail business in the historic downtown. In 1966, Robison sold his business to Bob and Melba Whitaker, who passed the business down to their sons, Jeff and Brett, in the late 1990s. Brett is Diamond Certified by the Gemological Institute of America, and Jeff is a Certified Gemologist Appraiser by the American Gem Society. They employ a staff of four, and several of Brett’s children work at the store. The brothers Whitaker attribute the success of their business to their commitment to offering a broad selection of quality jewelry at competitive prices, and to their friendly, knowledgeable staff. Robison Jewelry provides custom design services, and most jewelry repairs are done on-site by Jeff, utilizing state-of-the-art laser welding technology. Robison’s jewelry is hand-selected by Brett from over 40 manufacturers from around the globe. A member of the world’s largest independent buying group, Robison’s passes their savings directly on to its customers. Shoppers will also find a beautiful assortment of estate jewelry, with new items arriving weekly. For the Whitakers, operating the family business involves more than just buying and selling. “As a Christian-owned company, we strive to apply biblical principles in the daily operation of our business,” says Brett. “Our goal is to maintain honesty and integrity, and to treat our customers the way we would want to be treated.” For more information, call (904) 261-3635 or visit www.robisonjewelry.com.
