Patti Shelly-Lohman met her husband, Terry, in Oregon many years ago. He was an Amelia Island native, and the couple knew they would eventually move back to Fernandina Beach. They built a home on a piece of property here on the island, and the two of them opened Amelia Audiology in 2000. Patti is a Doctor of Audiology, and Terry is a Licensed Audiology Assistant. They work together at their office in the 14th Street Professional Plaza, providing hearing health care, including digital hearing aids for all ages. Dr. Patti Shelly-Lohman earned her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree from Arizona School of Health Sciences, a division of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). “We provide hearing instruments from all major hearing aid manufacturers and provide cleaning and repair service for all makes and models of hearing aids,” says Patti. “We also offer comprehensive diagnostic hearing evaluations for all ages. Our youngest patient is a newborn, and our eldest is 104 years old!” Patti and Terry do not employ any staff at Amelia Audiology. “We love working together,” says Patti. “We are best friends, and after 31 years of marriage, we make a pretty good team!” When Patti and Terry are not working, you can find them searching for sharks’ teeth, fishing, and enjoying other outdoor activities.
