Redbones Gourmet Dog Bakery and Boutique

Jan 19, 2015 11:15AM
When Martinique Lemke was working in Japan as a chef for The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka, little did she know that in a few short years she would be creating gourmet delights for furry clients in Fernandina Beach. When Martinique walked into Redbones Dog Bakery one day to buy treats for her dog, owner Cindy Hawkins offered her a job to help expand the bakery. In less than two years, Martinique purchased the entire operation, and, eight years later, Redbones is the only gourmet dog bakery in Northeast Florida. “At Redbones, we are all about healthy pets,” says Martinique. “Everything we sell in the store is all-natural, with no preservatives, fillers, or by-products. There is no sugar, soy, or corn in our products, which, by the way, are all made in the USA.” Martinique herself makes thirty-five varieties of treats using only healthy, human-grade ingredients, including goodies like ice cream cones, cupcakes, s’mores, and biscuits all for dogs. Redbones also carries cat treats, cat food, and other quality pet products. Redbones is a proud corporate sponsor of the Nassau Humane Society. Every Saturday, Redbones hosts an on-site adoption called “Puppy Kisses” in its “barking lot,” where you can hold an adorable, adoptable puppy from the Nassau Humane Society and get covered in puppy kisses for a $1 donation, and maybe even find a new friend. For more information, stop by Redbones at 809 South Eighth Street, visit their website at www.redbonesbakery.com, or call (904) 321-0020.
