Meet and Greet Renowned Local Authors at Long Point

Mark your calendar, buy your tickets and come meet with renowned local authors who will gather for an informal “Meet and Greet” on Tuesday, December 9 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Amelia Island Club, Long Point Grill. Among those attending will be Chuck Barrett who received the Indie Excellence Award for Political Thrillers. He has been heralded as an author whose intrigue comes from all directions. Terri Dean, PhD., whose new book, “Traveling Stories”, has just been released, is a well known psychotherapist and inspirational speaker who will also be with us, and Kim and Rob Hicks, local educators and life-long residents of Amelia Island, will speak about their now famous children’s book, “Amelia A-Z”.

Marc Curtis Little, new member of the Amelia Island Book Festival board, is a motivational speaker, author of three books and a finalist in 2013 Next Generation Indie Book Award in the African American Category. His works are noted as spirit filled journeys through politics, power, money and mystery. Both spiritual and secular readers are captivated by the sojourns revealed in his books. In addition, Ron Miller, local author and photographer will also be present, and Don Parker, whose newly released book, “Food for Thought – A Culinary Adventure Across the Country and the World” will encourage all to be creative and try new ideas, making even leftovers a masterpiece.

Nola Perez, widely acclaimed poet and author of five works and a finalist in the National Poetry Series will also be on hand as will Marsh Phelts, author of “An American Beach for African Americans” and “The American Beach Cookbook”. Appetizers will be served and there will be a cash bar. Tickets for this author “Meet and Greet” are $25 for Amelia Island Book Festival members and $35 for nonmembers.
