Local Artists Featured at The Cultural Center

Beginning September 26, Creative Photographer Ann Kemp and Kiln Formed Glass Artist Denise Murphy will present a collaborative work entitled “Fusion” at The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach. The opening reception will be held on September 26 from 5:30 to 8 p.m.; the show runs through November 8.

Ann Kemp currently exhibits her work at the Island Art Association and at Inside Out Home and Garden. She was a student of Richard Olderman, a former teacher of photography at the Art Institute in Chicago and other institutions. “Sharing my photographs is often sharing myself,” says Kemp, “I’m revealing those unique images that I have seen and captured with my camera in private moments of quiet meditative observation and solitude.”

Denise Murphy works mainly with the media of glass, but she is also a mosaic and fiber artist. Her glass art borrows heavily from her early foundation in fiber art; particularly with a woven technique that allows glass to simulate the texture and draping of textiles. She is also a recipient of the Community Foundation for Northeast Florida Art Ventures Grant. The Cultural Center is located at 50 Executive Way, Ponte Vedra Beach.
