Brooke Raulerson grew up with flowers. While other tots went to day care, Brooke spent her childhood in a New Orleans flower shop, where her mother worked as a designer. In 1996, Brooke’s parents opened Artistic Florist and Gifts in Fernandina Beach, and then passed on the floral tradition to their daughter and her husband, Dale, who bought the store in 2005. Brooke has won numerous awards, such as “Designer of the Year” from the Florida State Florist Association, and she recently won first place in the “Gateway to the Americas Cup of Florist Artist” competition, competing against designers from Cuba, Venezuela, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and another United States competitor.

Using nature’s elements, Raulerson draws her inspiration from the splendor of Amelia Island. “I’ve always felt the beauty of Amelia Island in every design I create,” says Brooke. “This community is very special because the people who live here have an appreciation for art and nature. In floral design, we bring art and nature together to create floral art displays for every occasion, from birthdays and quaint beach weddings to grand, ballroom affairs.”

Brooke is also a current educator in the floral industry, specializing in floral art and European designs. Brooke and Dale employ six to ten design assistants and floral designers throughout the year, producing floral arrangements for over 150 weddings.
