Aug 18, 2014 08:38AM
So that children and young adults are given an equal opportunity to explore and develop their creativity in the arts, The Island Art Association announced tha ttheir Board of Directors has approved that the Art Departments of the Callahan Middle School, Fernandina Beach High School, Fernandina Beach Middle School, Hilliard Middle-Senior High School, West Nassau County High School, Yulee High School, and Yulee Middle School will each receive a donation of $500 for art supplies. Additionally, the Starting Point Behavioral Healthcare will receive a $100 donation for use in purchasing art supplies. One of the missions of the Island Art Association is to inspire students through engaging arts experiences that are diverse, accessible, and relevant. The intent of their funding program is to support Nassau County schools that nurture and foster creatively alive children who will grow up to be inspired adults. They believe a key aspect of ensuring children have their basic physical and emotional needs met is giving them the time, space, and opportunities to wonder, explore, pretend, imagine, create, and question.
