Representing the United States, Amelia Island’s own Brooke Raulerson brought home the big win in the “Gateway to the Americas Cup of Florist Artist” competition. Raulerson, owner of Artistic Florist, competed against countries like Cuba, Venezuela, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and another United States competitor. They were judged in six separate categories including European Bridal Bouquet, Boutonniere, Centerpiece, Tablescape, Interpretive Design, and a design using only green foliages.

“Just to be chosen to represent the United States was an honor,” said Raulerson. “I was so blessed to have won against so many talented designers.” But for Raulerson, it wasn’t just about the win that was important to her. “The experience was fun for me, too. I enjoyed creating the designs. Loving what I do and receiving recognition for it is its true reward.”

As challenging as it was competing against the best designers from each country, Raulerson won first by a 133 point margin between first and second place. Using nature’s elements, Raulerson draws her inspiration from the beauty of Amelia Island. Artistic Florist invites the public to stop in their shop 1430 Park Avenue to see some of Raulerson’s winning designs. For more information call (904) 261-5546.
