July 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26 at 7:30 p.m., and July 13 and 20at 2:30 p.m. You’ll recognize many of your favorite songs like Maria, Do-Re-Mi, My Favorite Things, Edelweiss and many more. The Sound of Music is directed by Geoffrey King. The Music Director is Jill Dillingham; Vocal Director is Mary Williams; Children’s Director is Arlene Filkoff.

It is hard to believe a year has gone by since a group gathered at the old Midtown with many friends, and toasted the birth of a new performance space on the island.  During the past year Amelia Musical Playhouse performers have wowed audiences in various venues around town, in tents in the parking lot, and finally were able to take the stage in their own newly revamped playhouse at 1955 Island Walkway.

The group has produced four revues, benefits for the FB Women’s Club and the ALS Foundation, three plays, and three full scale musicals.  The total casts, bands and crews for these productions total over 150 volunteers. Join the cast and crew at Amelia Musical Playhouse for The Sound of Music – they look forward to seeing you! For more information visit www.ameliamusicalplayhouse.com or call (904)277-3455
