One of the favorite annual concerts in the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival lineup is Beer & G-Strings II. This year’s concert is called “Gypsy Sparks” and features the music of Susie Park, violin, Elizabeth Pridgen, piano, and Christopher Rex, cello. Former violinist for the Grammy-nominated Eroica Trio, Australian-born Susie Park is gaining worldwide attention for her emotive range and dynamic stage presence. She was hailed as “prodigiously talented” by the Washington Pos
t and praised for her “freedom, mastery, and fantasy” by La Libre
in Belgium. Ms. Park has performed as a recitalist in many of the world’s greatest venues and music festivals. Recent appearances by pianist Elizabeth Pridgen include concerts at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall, the Tilles Center on Long Island, Spivey Hall in Atlanta, and the “Rising Stars Series” at the Ravinia Festival. Christopher Rex is the Artistic Director for the AICMF and Principal Cellist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
The concert will be held at Walker’s Landing, Omni Amelia Island Plantation, Marsh Creek Road, on May 27 at 7 p.m., and features the show pieces of Sarasate, Brahms, Liszt, Kodaly, and Ravel. Tickets are available at www.aicmf.com.
