Welcome the Holiday Season at Omni Amelia Island Plantation

Nov 18, 2013 02:00AM
The Omni Amelia Island Plantation resort invites guests and locals to join in their holiday celebrations this year with their festive tree lighting on Friday, November 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the local mentoring scholarship program, Take Stock in Children.

Guests and families will gather to enjoy live entertainment, holiday characters, train, hay, and pirate ship rides, a bounce house, crafts, cookie decorating, pictures with Santa, and the lighting of a 34-foot Christmas tree with thousands of twinkling lights. Special guest Santa Claus will take time out of his busy schedule to greet the children and hear their holiday wishes after his arrival on a local fire truck when Take Stock in Children representatives Bradly Loum and Joshua Hamrick light the tree.

Entry to the festivities is free and open to the public. Tabbed wristbands will be available to purchase for $15 or $25 ($5 value/tab) for holiday crafts, train, hay, and pirate ship rides, and unlimited bounce house access, or an unlimited bounce house wristband will be available for $5. Families can decorate a dozen holiday cookies and enjoy one complimentary cup of hot cocoa for $20. This merry celebration will also feature hot chocolate, cookies, food, and other beverages to purchase.

“This is truly an event that brings out the holiday spirit in everyone. It is a great way to celebrate the joyful season with your loved ones,’ says Paul Eckert, general manager for the Omni Amelia Island Plantation. “We are happy to support Take Stock in Children and our local community by creating this classic tree lighting event the whole family can enjoy.”
