Block Party on October 19

Sep 23, 2013 02:00AM
Mark your calendars for a celebration of the start of the new Fernandina Beach Library addition. The Friends of the Library are planning a fun and festive Block Party with entertainment for the whole family in front of the Library between Centre and Alachua Street, on Saturday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be live music, performances, activities, demonstrations, and much more. You can also purchase lunch, snacks and tickets for some great prizes to support the Friends of the Library’s capital campaign.

“A modern library enhances the community it is in,” says Susan Steger, former Mayor of Fernandina Beach. “Libraries transform young lives, opening their world to the joy of learning. And they allow universal access to information—an important benefit when difficult economic conditions limit the amount of information available to many who are struggling.”

All proceeds will go toward the capital campaign to improve the Fernandina Beach Library. For more information call 321-6529 or e-mail [email protected]
