Amelia Islander

Book Signing at The Book Loft

Jul 19, 2013 02:00AM
Karen Miller, freelance writer and former Amelia Island, FL caterer, has published a new book, Succotash Dreams…And Other Fond Food Memories. The book is a collection of mouth-watering recipes, each accompanied by a short story. Miller has catered prestigious events in and around Amelia Island over the last 12 years, including the Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival, and the Amelia Island Jazz Festival. “Karen Miller is a literary tour de force and a culinary powerhouse,” says Les DeMerle, Founder and Artistic Director of the Amelia Island Jazz Festival. “She has worked closely with the Jazz Festival since the beginning, contributing great food, just like the music – tasty and sweet, or hot and spicy! Karen, like jazz, is creative and spontaneous.” Miller is a regular contributor to the Amelia Islander Magazine, and writes the monthly Eating Scene column. She also writes for Jacksonville Magazine, and works as a cookbook editor. When not writing, Miller bakes pies for the Fernandina Beach Market Place.

Miller will be signing copies of her new book at The Book Loft on July 27, from noon to 3 p.m. The Book Loft is located at 214 Centre Street, Downtown Fernandina Beach. For more information call (904) 261-8991.
