Often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive and usually fatal neuromuscular disease. It slowly robs the body of its ability to walk, speak, swallow, and breathe. The Florida Chapter of the ALS Association promotes awareness, supports research, and provides help for families.

The ALS Amelia Island Golf Classic invites you to “Hit the Links for a Cure” on August 2 at Long Point Amelia Island. 11 a.m. is registration and a warm up lunch buffet. At 1 p.m. there will be a shotgun start; four person scramble format, followed by a dinner reception at 5 p.m. that includes beer and wine, raffle prizes, awards, and a silent auction. The ALS Amelia Island Golf Classic is held in memory of John Louis O’Day, who passed away from ALS in 2002. For more information contact Mark O’Day at (904) 553-0578 or email him at [email protected]
