Amelia Islander

Friday Program at Maritime Museum

Jun 12, 2013 02:00AM
The Maritime Museum of Amelia Island hosts a program on a current topic every Friday evening at 6 p.m. The programs are jointly sponsored by the Museum and Amelia Research and Recovery, the Amelia-based company that searches for and recovers sunken treasure from Spanish galleons. The program begins with a meet and greet, and pot luck dinner. Members of the Museum are on hand to answer questions and give tours.

Amelia Research & Recovery, LLC believes very strongly in the preservation of historical data as well as protection of the environment. They also believe that commercial salvage of historical shipwrecks can be accomplished with strict adherence to established archaeological guidelines and thorough reporting procedures.

The museum is located at 1335 South 8th Street. No reservations are needed, but feel free to call if you want more information about their program at (904) 838-6688.
