Book Signing at Seventh Street Gallery

Jun 07, 2013 02:00AM
Succotash Dreams… And Other Fond Food Memories is a more than a cookbook. Written by Amelia Island caterer and lifestyle writer Karen Miller, it is a collection of mouth-watering recipes, each accompanied by a short story.

You will chuckle at the tribulations of 11-year-old Karen, determined to enter the 4-H Club baking contest. Learn the key to making the perfect quiche, or how to brew real Southern sweet tea. You already know this young baker as the successful Amelia Island caterer with her store, Old South Yankee, pie baker extraordinaire at the Fernandina Beach Market Place, and as a writer for The Amelia Islander Magazine.

This unique cookbook will entertain you, and the recipes will inspire you to cook. It may even stir up some fond food memories of your own. The reception is Tuesday, June 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Seventh Street Gallery, located at 14 South 7th Street, across from LuLu’s, in downtown Fernandina. As this is a historic property, it is not handicap accessible. For questions, directions, or to order Miller’s book by phone, please call (904)432-8330.
