Sunday at the Farm in Callahan

May 17, 2013 02:00AM
On Sunday, May 19, visit NaVera Farms in Callahan for their annual farm event! This is not your typical farmer’s market, but a special event where NaVera opens their farm to the public, to see what small family farms are all about.

See the alpacas, mini ponies, goat families, Browney the pet turkey, Eeyore the donkey, Mama Llama, and other farm friends. “Intro to farm” walking tours for ages 10 and up will introduce young and old to the goings on at a real farm. There are also big pony carts rides to tour the farm – both of these tours are $5 per person, with proceeds to benefit the Farm Life Foundation.

Back by popular demand, there will be a shitake mushroom workshop, a special appearance by the Southern Genealogist’s Exchange Society, and a huge selection of farmer’s market favorites – organic produce, plants, jams, cheeses, ice cream, breads, pastas, pies and more!

Sunday at the Farm is held from noon until 4 p.m. , and located at 46480 Sauls Road in Callahan. For more information visit www.naverafarms.com, or call them at (904) 879-0396. The event is free and open to the public.
