The Best Shrimp Festival Bloody Mary

I start my Bloody Mary with a huge beer glass - or whatever is the largest glass you have in your house. Pour about 2-jiggers of vodka into the bottom of the glass. Add a squeeze of lemon juice, a teaspoon or so of good, grated horseradish, and a pinch of finely minced onion. Then add ice and tomato juice to fill. Stir or shake well.
Thread 5-big cooked shrimp on a wooden skewer and stick it into the glass. Then add an enormous rib of celery, with the leaves still on, and a slender, peeled and cleaned carrot stick. Garnish with a lemon wedge.
You may be creative with this recipe - add Tabasco, or lime juice, or skewered cocktail onions. But don't leave out the shrimp and horseradish. That's what makes it special!
