Digital Camera Workshop

Apr 03, 2013 02:00AM

Do you ever pick up your digital camera and wonder what all those buttons and icons are for? Sure, you meant to read the little book that came with the camera…and wish that you had. Digital cameras are amazing tools to help you capture life’s special moments, and if you want to get the most out of your digital camera, Bill Raser will show you how to use it, at an upcoming workshop.

Raser began taking pictures professionally in the 1960s when he was a correspondent in London, Paris, and Milan for the Fairchild Publications newspapers.  His photographs often appeared in the Fairchild flagship publication Women’s Wear Daily. Currently, as a professional freelance commercial photographer on Amelia Island, his photos appear regularly in the Amelia Islander Magazine and he does advertising photography for various clients on and off the island.  Under contract with Visit Florida he created a library of images promoting tourism in Nassau County.  He taught digital photography and image editing for eight years at The Center for Lifelong Learning at FSCJ Nassau, and for the last three years has taught his class at the Island Art Association Art Education Center.

How To Use Your Digital Camera seminar and workshop will be held on Saturday, April 13. The class is from 9 a.m. to noon at the Island Art Association Art Education Center, 18 North 2nd St.  It doesn’t matter whether you have a compact point-and-shoot or a digital single lens reflex,  Raser will teach you to take better pictures. Registration fee is $40. The class is limited to 15 persons.  To register call Raser at 904-557-8251 or email [email protected]
