Corvette Stingray Celebrates 50 years

Mar 04, 2013 09:01AM

A fine selection of Corvette Stingrays will be the focus of the 18th Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, with a seminar this Friday night that unveils the brand new 2014 Stingray, available for sale later this year. At 19 years old, Peter Brock drew the original design for the classic automobile, and seminar-goers will have the honor of meeting the creator, who at the time was the youngest designer to work at General Motors. “Pete Brock is our Leonardo Da Vinci,” says Bill Warner, founder of the famous Amelia Island car show. “He’s still working today, and he’s brilliant.” The new Stingray will be on the fairway for public viewing both Saturday and Sunday, along with a vast selection of other vintage and significant Stingrays.

For more information or to purchase tickets for the Concours d’Elegance, visit their web site at www.ameliaconcours.org. The event is held March 8-10 at The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island and the Golf Club of Amelia Island at Summer Beach.
