Willy Wonka Comes to Amelia Island

Jan 25, 2013 02:00AM
We all dreamed of finding the golden ticket in our Willy Wonka chocolate bar, after the publication of Roald Dahl’s beloved book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It reminded us that, as long as we were good little boys and girls, we could find happiness and riches. And you’d better mind your manners, too, lest you be turned into a giant blueberry, or get sucked into a bubbling chocolate river.

Mark your calendars in February, when the Nassau Players and the Fernandina Beach Middle School presents, Willy Wonka, Jr., directed by Judy Tipton. Starring a cast of 60 young, talented individuals from Nassau County schools, Willy Wonka, Jr. is certain to delight audiences of all ages.

The play is to be held at the Fernandina Beach Middle School auditorium at 315 Citrona Drive, on the following days: February 7, 8, and 9 at 7:30 p.m., February 10 at 2 p.m., and February 14, 15, and 16 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased at the FBMS main office or Amelia Awards, located at 817 South 8th Street. All proceeds benefit Communities in School.
