Travel back in time to 1864 when the Union Army’s New York Engineers were in the process of building one of the newest forts in the federal fort system. Reenactors and first-person interpreters bring history alive with stories of growing up in 1860’s America. Learn about day to day life from cooking and cleaning to how news traveled, and get close to the soldiers as they go about their day to day lives. First Weekend Union Garrisons occur on the first full weekend of every month.
The next Union Garrison will be held August 3 and 4. Fort Clinch State Park is located at 2601 Atlantic Avenue. Cost is $2.50 per person for Fort entry, plus the cost of entry into the state park. For more information visit https://www.floridastateparks.org/events/first-weekend-union-garrison-5
