Traditional and classical holiday music will highlight the Island Chamber Singers concerts on November 30 and December 2 at Amelia Plantation Chapel. With the banner of A Classic Christmas, the 15-year-old choral group will sing holiday arrangements from the Robert Shaw Chorale that feature traditional favorites like “Joy to the World,” “Away in a Manger,” “The First Nowell,” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem.” Works by world-renowned contemporary composer John Rutter will include “I Wish You Christmas” and “Silent Night.” The classical part of the program will feature works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi.
The concert will be directed by ICS founder Dr. Jane Lindberg and accompanied by an orchestra that includes strings, timpani and piano. Concerts will take place at Amelia Plantation Chapel, 36 Bowman Road, Amelia Island, on Friday, November 30, at 7 pm and Sunday, December 2 at 3 pm.
