“Papa’s in the icebox lookin’ for a can of ale, Mama’s in the backyard, learning how to jive an’ wail!”

If you’re looking for a can of ale and a place to swing, come on down to the Sandbar & Kitchen, 2910 Atlantic Avenue on October 10 at 7 p.m. for a very special concert and dance, featuring The Dynamic Les DeMerle Little Big Band with Bonnie Eisele, vocals, Steve Strawley, trumpet, Clarence Hines, trombone, Al Waters, saxophone, Doug Matthews, piano, Ernie Ealum, bass, and Les DeMerle, drums.

Swing dance developed with the swing style of jazz music in the 1920s, 30s, and 40s, and its music features a strong groove and rhythmic innovations. DeMerle’s tight horn section featuring former Ray Charles sax man, Al Waters, will turn up the heat as Bonnie Eisele’s vocals fill the room. You won’t want to miss a beat of Jump, Jive and Wail, so be sure to bring your sweetheart and dance the night away.
